It is hard to imagine the struggles of medicine in Aroostook County in the 1800’s; a new frontier, intolerable winters, impossible supply routes. It took people ‘with the right stuff’ to brave the confines of Northern Maine and doctor to the needs of the pioneering people who settled here.
